REVISION RHINOPLASTY

Restoring Aesthetics and Confidence

Revision (secondary) rhinoplasty is one of the most complex and demanding areas of modern aesthetic surgery. It requires not only the highest level of surgical skill, but also a refined aesthetic sense. At Arzni Aesthetica Plastic Surgery Center, we understand that every revision procedure represents new hope for the patient—to correct previously made mistakes and restore harmony.

The Two Forms of Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision surgery is generally performed in two main scenarios:

Minor Corrections (“Returning” to the Previous Result)

In this case, the patient is generally satisfied with the overall appearance of the nose but wishes to make certain refinements. This may involve removing a small hump remaining on the nasal bridge or creating a more refined appearance of the nasal tip. In such cases, the scope of the procedure is relatively limited.

Complete Reconstruction

This is the more complex option, in which an already operated-on nose is refined or fundamentally reconstructed because the result did not meet expectations.

Psychological Readiness and an Individualized Approach

An unsuccessful rhinoplasty can be one of the most difficult experiences a person who has undergone plastic surgery may face. Patients often spend years weighing the decision before undergoing surgery, and when the resulting appearance is worse than before, it can lead to profound disappointment. Low self-esteem and loss of confidence can negatively affect a person’s social life.

At our clinic, we approach our patients’ emotional concerns with particular understanding. Dr. Danielyan and his medical team provide not only modern medical equipment and delicate surgical techniques, but also psychological support and individualized care throughout the entire process.

What Are the Causes of Unsuccessful Rhinoplasty?

The most common cause is technical errors made during surgery. The foundation of effective rhinoplasty is extensive surgical experience, meticulous preoperative planning, and the proper choice of technique.

The main errors that can lead to an unnatural appearance are:

  • Incorrectly performed incisions
  • Careless removal of nasal bone and cartilage
  • Unsuccessful reconstructive work
It is important to understand that not all surgeons specialize specifically in facial and nasal surgery. A specialist who performs only 5–10 surgeries per year cannot have sufficient experience to perform complex rhinoplasty. Today, patients’ expectations are higher, which has also led to an increased demand for revision procedures.

The Nuances of Reconstructive Surgery

Rhinoplasty is a major challenge from both a technical and an aesthetic perspective. In many cases, nasal cartilage is incorrectly removed during a previous surgery, and the natural “framework” of the nose is replaced with connective tissue, resulting in a nose that becomes unattractive and deformed.

How Is Reconstruction Performed?

1. Cartilage Grafts: The nasal structure is recreated using cartilage grafts, achieving the greatest possible resemblance to a natural nose.

2. Three-Dimensional Reconstruction: This is precise work that results in a beautiful nose that enhances the individual features of the face.

3. Tissue Care: Scarred and altered tissues, as well as skin distorted by the previous surgery, are carefully restored, creating a new, strong framework for the nose.

4. Functional Restoration: In addition to aesthetics, we also restore the breathing function of the nose by reinforcing the structures responsible for keeping the nasal passages open.

At Arzni Aesthetica Plastic Surgery Center, we create a strong structure capable of withstanding the effects of previous scarring, ensuring a long-lasting and stable result.

If you are not satisfied with the result of your first surgery, do not lose hope.
